TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
Main goal of the program
The
goal of the Technology Program is to provide our youth, ages 6 to 18
years old, with access to computer technology in order to improve
their academic progress at school and to foster their social and
cultural enrichment, all of which should increase their job
potential in the future and close the digital divide.
All the activities
in the program are under the “FROM MY PERSPECTIVE” proposal, which
encourages the acquisition of computer skills as a tool for
self-expression and self-development.
Permanent activities
Tutoring
During the school year
homework help is provided for youth (6 – 18 years old) including
supervised Internet access.
Computer
classes for children 6 – 12 years old
During the entire year different classes are provided. Most of the
classes are oriented to develop basic and intermediate skills in
software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and
Publisher), and HyperStudio, while developing creativity, writing
skills and teamwork.
Monday through Thursday 4:00 – 5:00 PM
Computer
classes for youth 13 – 18 years old
During the entire year
different classes are provided. Most of the classes are oriented to
develop basic and intermediate skills in different professional
software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe PageMaker, Adobe
Illustrator, BPM Studio, together with Hardware repair &
Troubleshooting solving, while developing creativity and teamwork.
